BRIEF HISTORY OF THE PUB.
As one of the oldest surviving pubs in the area, we provide charm and comfort with historical stories and pictured of the pub back in the 1800's.
This includes census documents detailing the some of the old landlords and historical facts, but to get the true feel of the pub please call in!
We still have an original water pump that was used to provide water for the horses and travellers in the 19th Century.
This is at the front of the pub on the corner of the original Kellet road.
We also boast the first ever church,at the rear of the pub, that transformed Carnforth from a hamlet to a village. As well as the original town function hall that can be recognised with the bricked out windows on the building next to the pub.
All of the buildings that encompass the pub date from as early as the 18th Century.
